EuroCup Finals 2027: format, dates & tickets (and why it is not a Final Four)

The EuroCup Finals 2027 will be a best-of-three series, not a Final Four weekend: Game 1 is scheduled for Wednesday, April 21, 2027, Game 2 for Tuesday, April 27, and a decisive Game 3, if needed, for Friday, April 30, 2027, according to the 2026-27 schedule published by Euroleague Basketball. The games are played in the home arenas of the two finalists, so there is no neutral host city to announce and no single venue to book months in advance. That is the key difference from the EuroLeague Final Four, the BCL Final Four or the women's Final Six, and it changes everything about how you buy tickets and plan travel. The finalists will only be known after the semifinals, which run from March 31 to April 9, 2027, which leaves supporters roughly two weeks to organise their trip.

The 2026-27 EuroCup is also the biggest in the competition's modern history, with 32 teams split into four groups of eight. Cosea JL Bourg, from Bourg-en-Bresse in eastern France, are the reigning champions after sweeping Beşiktaş in the 2026 Finals, and the field includes newcomers such as Maxima Roma as well as AS Monaco, who stepped back from the EuroLeague for this season. On this page we explain the format, look back at Bourg's title run, list the main contenders as we see them, and give practical advice on tickets and short-notice travel. Because the finalists are confirmed so late, the free 🔔 alert on this page is particularly useful: we email you as soon as the two finalists, the home-court order and the ticket sale information are known.

EuroCup Finals 2027 format: why it is not a Final Four

Euroleague Basketball's second competition has experimented with several formats over the years, including single-game rounds and series of different lengths, but for 2026-27 every knockout round is a best-of-three. The team that finished higher in the regular season holds home-court advantage, which in this format means hosting Game 1 and, if the series goes the distance, Game 3, while the lower-placed team hosts Game 2. The 2026 Finals followed exactly that pattern: Beşiktaş, the better-placed side, hosted Game 1 in Istanbul and Bourg hosted Game 2 in Bourg-en-Bresse. There is no third-place game and no central festival, because each match is effectively a home game for one of the two clubs. For neutral fans, this means the EuroCup Finals are less of a destination event and more of a club occasion, with atmosphere driven by local supporters and small away sections.

The reason the EuroCup keeps a series rather than a Final Four is partly sporting and partly commercial. A series rewards the better team over several games and gives both clubs at least one home final, which matters enormously to mid-sized clubs whose arenas and sponsors benefit from a sold-out European final. A centralised weekend would require a neutral host, a big marketing budget and travelling fan bases large enough to fill an arena, which is realistic for the EuroLeague but harder at this level. If you want to compare the models, our Final Four 2027 dates page lays out every European and American final weekend side by side, and the EuroLeague Final Four 2027 page explains the centralised alternative in detail.

EuroCup 2027 calendar: from the regular season to the Finals

The 2026-27 regular season runs from Tuesday, September 29, 2026 to Wednesday, January 13, 2027. Each team plays the other seven clubs in its group home and away, for 14 rounds and 224 games in total, and the top four in each group, 16 teams, advance to the playoffs. The eighthfinals are scheduled between February 2 and February 12, 2027, the quarterfinals between March 9 and March 19, and the semifinals between March 31 and April 9. The Finals then follow on April 21, April 27 and, if necessary, April 30, 2027. All four knockout rounds are best-of-three series, so a club that reaches the Finals will have played up to nine playoff games after the group stage. The exact tip-off times of the Finals games are usually set once the finalists are known, so do not book tight travel connections around assumed times. Leave a buffer of at least one evening either side.

EuroCup Finals 2026 recap: Bourg's historic sweep

The 2026 Finals were a landmark for French basketball at club level. Cosea JL Bourg, a club from a city of modest size in the Ain department, faced Beşiktaş, one of Istanbul's great sporting institutions, with home-court advantage on the Turkish side. Bourg won Game 1 in Istanbul on April 22, 2026 by 72–60, a twelve-point road win that immediately shifted the pressure onto Beşiktaş. Game 2 in Bourg-en-Bresse on April 28 was far tighter: Beşiktaş fought back in the final period with difficult three-pointers and tied the game, but Bourg scored on the last possession to win 73–71, completing a 2–0 sweep and lifting the first European trophy in the club's history. Adam Mokoka was named Finals MVP. The scenes in a packed home arena showed exactly why clubs value hosting a Finals game rather than playing at a neutral venue. For Beşiktaş, the defeat was painful, but the season still ended with a promotion of sorts, as explained below.

Why Bourg are not in the EuroLeague after winning the 2026 EuroCup Finals

The EuroCup champion traditionally earns a place in the following season's EuroLeague, which is one of the competition's main sporting incentives. Bourg, however, declined the 2026-27 EuroLeague spot, a decision that reflects the financial and logistical demands of a 38-round EuroLeague season for a club of its size. As a result, the French champions are defending their EuroCup title in 2026-27 instead. Beşiktaş, the beaten finalists, did join the EuroLeague for this season, taking the place left by AS Monaco, which temporarily withdrew from the top competition and now plays in the EuroCup. That chain of events is unusual and explains why both the 2026 champion and a recent EuroLeague finalist, Monaco reached the 2025 EuroLeague final, are in the 2027 EuroCup field. For fans, it makes the race to the EuroCup Finals 2027 more competitive than usual at the top end, and arguably the strongest in years. Expect fierce competition for the top seeds in every group.

The 2027 EuroCup field: 32 teams and two Rome clubs

The expanded field combines 21 clubs holding five-year licences with 11 one-year participants. Among the names confirmed in the 2026-27 schedule are the defending champions Cosea JL Bourg, AS Monaco, Maxima Roma and Roma Basketball, giving the Italian capital two teams, plus La Laguna Tenerife, Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos and Kids&Us Manresa from Spain, Le Mans from France, Umana Reyer Venice, Napoli Basket, Dolomiti Energia Trento and Baglietto Derthona Tortona from Italy, ratiopharm ulm, Rostock Seawolves, Skyliners Frankfurt and Niners Chemnitz from Germany, Aris and PAOK from Thessaloniki, Türk Telekom, Tofaş and Bahçeşehir College from Turkey, Hapoel Jerusalem, Cedevita Olimpia Ljubljana, Budućnost, Šiauliai, Lietkabelis, Neptūnas, Śląsk Wrocław, U-BT Cluj-Napoca, Balkan Botevgrad, London Lions and a Latvian entry from Riga. It is a genuinely pan-European competition, stretching from London to Jerusalem. That geographic spread matters for fans: a Finals series between, say, a Spanish club and a Lithuanian club involves long journeys between games, while an all-Italian or all-German matchup would be far easier to follow on the road.

Our EuroCup Finals 2027 contenders (prediction)

This section is our opinion, not a forecast based on announced information. AS Monaco stand out on paper, because a club that played in the EuroLeague final in 2025 brings a level of experience and resources rarely seen in the EuroCup. Bourg, as defending champions, know exactly what it takes to win road games in a best-of-three, and their 2026 run showed how dangerous they are when their home crowd gets involved. La Laguna Tenerife, two-time BCL winners and 2026 BCL semifinalists, add a different kind of European pedigree, while Hapoel Jerusalem, ratiopharm ulm, Reyer Venice, Cedevita Olimpia and the Turkish clubs all have the profile to make a deep run. Watch the group stage closely: finishing in the top two of a group matters, because seeding determines home-court advantage in every playoff round, including the EuroCup Finals 2027 themselves, where hosting Games 1 and 3 can be decisive. Bourg proved road wins are possible.

EuroCup Finals 2027 tickets: how the home sales work

Since each Finals game is a home game for one club, tickets are sold by that club through its own box office and ticketing partner, not through a central EuroCup platform. In practice, season-ticket holders usually get first access, then club members, then the general public, often within a few days because the window between the semifinals and the Finals is so short. Allocations for visiting fans are typically limited and handled through the away club, so if you support the lower-placed team and want to attend Game 1, contact your own club as soon as the semifinal is won. Prices vary enormously between clubs: a final in a small French or German arena will not be priced like one in a large Istanbul or Monaco venue. Our indicative estimate, based on typical European club playoff pricing and not on any announced grid, is roughly €20 to €80 for standard seats, with premium courtside seats and hospitality well above that range.

Because the arenas involved are generally smaller than EuroLeague venues, many Finals games sell out quickly, sometimes within hours once the general sale opens. If you miss the club sale, the secondary market can still work: buy from an established resale platform with a buyer guarantee, check that the ticket can be transferred to your name if the club requires named tickets, and confirm the delivery date before paying. Prices on resale platforms usually spike once a series is tied or a Game 3 becomes likely, so the earlier you commit the better. Travelling to the EuroCup Finals 2027 on short notice

The EuroCup Finals are the most demanding of all the 2027 finals to plan, because you do not know the cities until about two weeks before Game 1. The smartest approach is to prepare a shortlist once the eighthfinals are over, when only eight clubs remain, and to check rough travel options to each city. Many EuroCup towns are not major airline hubs, so look at nearby airports and train connections: Bourg-en-Bresse, for example, is usually reached via Lyon or Geneva, and smaller German, Lithuanian or Italian cities are often better served by rail from a larger hub. Once the finalists are known, book refundable accommodation for both possible game nights in the city of your choice, and remember that Game 3 on April 30 may never happen. If it does not, cancel in time or turn the trip into a short city break.

It is also possible to combine the EuroCup Finals with other events of a busy European spring. The EuroLeague Women Final Six in Zaragoza runs from April 14 to 18, 2027, just before Game 1, and the BCL Final Four is expected in late April or May, although FIBA has not yet confirmed its host or dates. The EuroLeague Final Four follows on May 28 and 30, with the host city still officially to be announced. If you want a European basketball road trip, our guides to the EuroLeague Women Final Six 2027 and the BCL Final Four 2027 help you build an itinerary, and the EuroLeague Final Four host city page tracks the candidates for the biggest weekend of the season.

EuroCup Finals 2027 FAQ

The EuroCup confuses many fans because it is often grouped with Final Four events even though it crowns its champion in a completely different way. The answers below focus on the questions we receive most often, from the dates of the series and the format to tickets and the link with the EuroLeague. Confirmed information comes from the 2026-27 schedule released by Euroleague Basketball and from verified results of the 2026 Finals. Anything that depends on which clubs qualify, such as arenas, ticket prices or travel costs, is presented as an estimate and will be updated as soon as the finalists are known in early April 2027. We also explain the role of the regular-season standings, because they decide home-court advantage and therefore which city hosts the first and potentially decisive games. If your question is not covered here, the alert on this page is the quickest way to get the official news.

When are the EuroCup Finals 2027?

The 2026-27 schedule sets Game 1 of the EuroCup Finals on Wednesday, April 21, 2027, Game 2 on Tuesday, April 27, 2027 and, if the series is tied at one game each, Game 3 on Friday, April 30, 2027. These dates were published with the full season calendar, but tip-off times are normally confirmed only once the finalists are known, so treat any time you see before early April as provisional. The semifinals that decide the two finalists are played between March 31 and April 9, 2027, which means the Finals pairing should be confirmed roughly a week and a half before Game 1. Remember that the venue of each game depends on the finalists: the higher-placed regular-season team hosts Games 1 and 3, the other team hosts Game 2. That is why we cannot yet say which cities will host the EuroCup Finals 2027, and why the 🔔 alert is the easiest way to know the moment the matchup is set.

Is there a EuroCup Final Four in 2027?

No. Despite the name of this website, the EuroCup does not hold a Final Four. Its champion is decided by a best-of-three Finals series played in the home arenas of the two finalists, and the semifinals before it are also best-of-three series rather than a centralised weekend. This is different from the EuroLeague Final Four, which brings four teams to one city for semifinals and a final over a weekend, and from the BCL Final Four, organised by FIBA in a single host city with a third-place game. The EuroLeague Women Final Six in Zaragoza is another centralised model, with six teams over five days. We include the EuroCup on this site because many fans looking for the end of the European season search for it alongside those events, and because the EuroCup champion traditionally earns a ticket to the following EuroLeague season, linking the two competitions directly. It is a real stepping stone.

Who won the last EuroCup Finals?

Cosea JL Bourg, from Bourg-en-Bresse in France, won the 2026 EuroCup Finals by sweeping Beşiktaş 2–0. Bourg won Game 1 in Istanbul on April 22, 2026 by 72–60, then clinched the title in Game 2 at home on April 28 with a 73–71 victory decided on the final possession, after Beşiktaş had erased the deficit with a late burst of three-pointers. Adam Mokoka was named Finals MVP, and it was the first European title in the club's history. Bourg then declined the EuroLeague place that normally goes to the champion, preferring to stay in the EuroCup for 2026-27, while Beşiktaş moved up to the EuroLeague in place of AS Monaco. As a result, Bourg defend their crown in this season's expanded 32-team competition, and they will be one of the clubs to watch in the race for the EuroCup Finals 2027, particularly if they secure home-court advantage. Repeating will not be easy.

How do I buy EuroCup Finals 2027 tickets?

Tickets are sold by the two finalist clubs for their own home games, usually through each club's official ticketing system. Expect priority windows for season-ticket holders and members before a short general sale, typically opening only a few days after the semifinals. Visiting supporters normally receive a limited allocation managed by their own club, so contact your club as soon as it qualifies. Prices are set by each club and have not been announced; our indicative estimate is roughly €20 to €80 for standard seats, with premium and hospitality options higher, but large arenas in big markets can price well above that. If the club sale sells out, an established resale platform with a buyer guarantee is the usual alternative, and you should check name-transfer rules and the delivery date before buying. The 🔔 alert on this page notifies you once both finalists are known and their sales are announced, giving you the best chance of securing seats.
