What "Final Four 2027" means in Europe and in the United States
The expression sounds identical on both continents, yet the two Final Fours of 2027 are built in very different ways. In Europe, the EuroLeague Final Four is the last stage of a professional club competition: twenty teams play thirty-eight regular-season rounds between September 2026 and April 2027, the Play-In decides the last playoff spots on 20 and 23 April, best-of-five playoff series run from 27 April until 12 May at the latest, and the four survivors then meet on neutral ground over a single weekend. Since the third-place game was dropped, that weekend contains exactly three games: two semifinals on the Friday and the championship on the Sunday. In the United States, the NCAA Final Four is the climax of a college tournament that, from 2027, starts with 76 teams instead of 68, runs through single-elimination rounds in March and finishes with national semifinals and a national championship in a large stadium or arena chosen years in advance.
Why the 2027 Final Four format matters for your ticket
The difference in format directly shapes what you buy. A EuroLeague ticket has traditionally been a pass for the whole weekend, covering both semifinals and the final, so you are committing to three games and usually to a three- or four-night stay in a city that might be far from home. The NCAA side sells all-session tickets too, but it also has a lively market for single sessions, which means you can attend only the Saturday semifinals or only the Monday title game in Detroit. Because the NCAA bracket is decided game by game through March, you usually buy before knowing which schools will be there; in Europe you will often know the four clubs only around mid-May, after the playoffs end. Both systems reward early decisions, but they punish them in different ways: in Europe you risk paying for a weekend whose teams you do not care about, while in the US you risk prices rising sharply if a big-following program reaches Ford Field.

The official 2026-27 EuroLeague calendar places the Final Four on the fifth weekend of May, with semifinals on Friday 28 May 2027 and the final on Sunday 30 May 2027. What is not settled is the venue. Abu Dhabi hosted the 2025 edition at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island under an agreement that was reported as one guaranteed event with an option on two more, 2027 and 2029 being theoretically part of the package. In late May 2026, several outlets reported that, because of political instability in the Middle East, the league was weighing alternatives, with Belgrade described as the front-runner, plus Kaunas and Valencia. Belgrade hosted in 2018 and 2022, Kaunas in 2023, while Valencia would be a first-time host with its new Roig Arena. No decision has been published since. Our EuroLeague Final Four 2027 host city analysis compares each scenario, and the main EuroLeague Final Four 2027 page follows the season.
Who could play the EuroLeague Final Four 2027
Olympiacos arrive as reigning champions after beating Real Madrid 92-85 in the Athens final of May 2026, a fourth title for the Piraeus club and its first since 2013, with Evan Fournier named MVP. Real Madrid answered early in the new season by winning the first EuroLeague Super Cup in Abu Dhabi against Olympiacos. Panathinaikos, Fenerbahçe, Anadolu Efes and FC Barcelona bring deep Final Four pedigrees, Valencia reached the 2026 semifinals, Žalgiris and Dubai Basketball add ambition, and Beşiktaş join the competition in place of AS Monaco. Predicting four names in October is a game, not a science, but history suggests the Greek, Spanish and Turkish giants will again be in the conversation. Our contenders page sets out the arguments club by club, and our Final Four history page lists every champion since the modern format began in Ghent in 1988. One pattern stands out in that list: the defending champion rarely has an easy path back, so keep an open mind until the playoffs have spoken.
NCAA Final Four 2027 in Detroit: Ford Field, 3 and 5 April
The men's NCAA Final Four 2027 is the most clearly defined event of the spring. It will be played at Ford Field in downtown Detroit, with the national semifinals on Saturday 3 April and the national championship on Monday 5 April 2027, hosted by Michigan State University and the Detroit Sports Commission, who were selected by the NCAA back in November 2022. The road there is new: this will be the first tournament with a 76-team field, after the Division I Board of Governors approved the expansion in May 2026. The First Four disappears and is replaced by an Opening Round of twenty-four teams playing twelve games over two days, with Dayton as one host. Selection Sunday falls on 14 March 2027, the Opening Round on 16 and 17 March, the first two rounds between 18 and 21 March, the Sweet 16 on 25 and 26 March and the Elite Eight on 27 and 28 March. All of it is detailed on our NCAA Final Four 2027 page.
The 2027 Final Four returns to a stadium with history
Detroit is not new to the event. Ford Field staged the 2009 Final Four, when North Carolina beat Michigan State 89-72 in the final, a game remembered in Michigan because the Spartans reached the title game in their home state. That precedent matters for 2027: with Michigan State as host institution and with Michigan arriving as defending national champions after beating UConn 69-63 in Indianapolis in April 2026, the regional appetite for tickets could be enormous if either school goes deep. A football stadium also changes the experience compared with a basketball arena, from sight lines in the upper levels to the scale of the fan festival around the building. Our Ford Field guide explains seating and access, and the NCAA tickets page explains the all-session and single-session options. In short, Detroit is the one Final Four of 2027 where you can already plan almost everything except the identity of the four schools, and that certainty is a real advantage when you are pricing flights and hotels months ahead.
Women's Final Four 2027 in Columbus: a sellout event in the making
The NCAA Women's Final Four 2027 takes place at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, with the national semifinals on Friday 2 April and the championship on Sunday 4 April 2027, hosted by The Ohio State University and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission. Columbus has hosted before: in 2018, Notre Dame won the title there thanks to two unforgettable Arike Ogunbowale buzzer-beaters, a 91-89 overtime semifinal win over UConn and a 61-58 final against Mississippi State. The women's field also grows to 76 teams in 2027. Demand for this event has risen sharply since 2023, and the 2026 edition in Phoenix underlined why, with an all-No.1-seed Final Four for only the fifth time and UCLA beating South Carolina 79-51 to win its first NCAA title, Lauren Betts named Most Outstanding Player. Because Nationwide Arena is a hockey and basketball venue rather than a football stadium, capacity is far smaller than Ford Field, so read our Women's Final Four 2027 guide early.
Combining the two NCAA Final Fours of 2027
The calendar makes an unusual double possible. The women play on Friday 2 April and Sunday 4 April, the men on Saturday 3 April and Monday 5 April, and Columbus and Detroit are close enough by road for a determined fan to consider both weekends in one trip. We would treat this as an ambitious plan rather than an easy one: you would need tickets for two events whose markets move independently, accommodation in two cities during their busiest nights, and a tolerance for driving between sessions. If you are flying in from Europe, though, it is the kind of itinerary that turns an expensive transatlantic flight into four days of championship basketball. Our Columbus travel page and Detroit hotels page help you judge the logistics, and the 🔔 alert can be set for both events so that you do not miss either on-sale window. Start with the event you care about most and treat the second as a bonus.
The other Final Fours of 2027: Final Six, BCL and EuroCup
Beyond the two headline events, the spring of 2027 has three more European finals worth knowing. The EuroLeague Women Final Six is confirmed in Zaragoza, at the Pabellón Príncipe Felipe, from 14 to 18 April 2027, the third consecutive year the city hosts it; tickets have been on sale since 5 October 2026, and Fenerbahçe Opet arrive as holders after beating Galatasaray in the 2026 final. The Basketball Champions League Final Four, organised by FIBA, has not yet announced its 2027 host or dates; in 2026 it was played in Badalona in early May, when Rytas Vilnius came back from twenty points down to beat AEK 92-86 in overtime. The EuroCup, finally, does not use a Final Four at all: its title is decided by a best-of-three final series, which Cosea JL Bourg won in 2026. See our Final Six page, our BCL page and our EuroCup page.
Which Final Four 2027 should you choose for a trip?
The right choice depends on what kind of fan you are. If you follow a European club, the EuroLeague weekend is the natural target, but you should accept that the host city is unknown and that your team may not qualify; the reward is an atmosphere built on travelling supporters, choreographies and three games in one arena. If you love the spectacle of college basketball, Detroit offers a stadium-sized crowd, a fan festival and the certainty of dates and venue already today. If you prefer intense, sold-out arenas with growing star power, Columbus is arguably the most exciting ticket of the spring. Budget matters as well: our Final Four 2027 ticket prices comparison shows that reference prices in Europe and the US are not as far apart as many fans assume, while travel costs can differ hugely depending on where you live. A 2027 Final Four itinerary: April in America, May in Europe
For the truly committed, spring 2027 lends itself to a two-continent plan. Early April belongs to the NCAA, with Columbus and Detroit within a few hours of each other; mid-April brings the Final Six in Zaragoza for those who follow the women's game in Europe; and the end of May closes the season with the EuroLeague weekend, wherever it is finally placed. Between those dates you could follow the EuroLeague Play-In and playoffs from home, which is also when you learn which clubs are heading to the Final Four. We would not book every leg at once. Lock in the American dates first, because they are fixed, choose refundable accommodation for May, and wait for the host announcement before buying flights for the EuroLeague weekend. If you want comfort rather than a backpacker approach, our VIP and hospitality guide explains what packages typically include on each side of the Atlantic.
How Final Four 2027 tickets work in each system
Ticketing is where the European and American events differ most. In 2026, the EuroLeague sold its Athens Final Four tickets in four public phases that opened on 11 February, with prices between €399 and €952 depending on category and phase, a maximum of two tickets per transaction, and buyers from one phase excluded from the following ones; the first phases sold out quickly, VIP tickets were sold separately, and an official resale platform opened in the spring. Nothing has been announced for 2027, but we expect a similar model once the host is confirmed. In the US, the NCAA sells all-session tickets and hospitality packages, and every attendee needs a ticket whatever their age; the resale market then sets prices according to the teams involved. For 2026, guides published at the time listed all-session resale from about $706 for the men and about $507 for the women, including fees. These are reference points only, not 2027 prices.
Buying 2027 Final Four tickets safely
The safest approach is simple and works for every event in this guide: buy during the official sale when you can, or from an established resale platform that offers a buyer guarantee, and always check the delivery date and the name or transfer conditions attached to the ticket. For the EuroLeague, remember that the league warned in 2026 that tickets obtained from unofficial sources could be cancelled, so read the conditions of any listing carefully before paying. For the NCAA events, compare all-session prices with the sum of single sessions, because the arithmetic does not always favour the bundle. Whatever you choose, set a budget ceiling before the sale opens and stick to it; championship weekends create pressure, and the most expensive mistakes are made in the last minutes of a queue. The 🔔 alert on this page will tell you when each event moves, so you can act calmly instead of reacting to a sold-out notice.

Final Four 2027 FAQ
These are the questions readers ask us most often about the Final Four 2027 season, from the basic "when and where" to the more practical matters of budget and ticket alerts. The answers below reflect what is confirmed on 25 October 2026, and we update them whenever an organiser publishes new information, which is especially likely for the EuroLeague host city and for the Basketball Champions League. If your question is about a specific event, the dedicated pages for the EuroLeague, the NCAA men, the NCAA women, the Final Six, the BCL and the EuroCup go into far more detail, including history, seating, travel and ticket mechanics. And if your question is simply "when can I buy?", the honest answer for most of these events is that nobody knows the exact day yet, which is precisely why the free 🔔 alert exists: it tells you as soon as a sale is scheduled, so that you can prepare instead of refreshing pages every morning.
When is the Final Four 2027?
There are several. The NCAA Women's Final Four 2027 is first, with semifinals on Friday 2 April and the championship on Sunday 4 April at Nationwide Arena in Columbus. The NCAA men's Final Four follows immediately, with semifinals on Saturday 3 April and the title game on Monday 5 April at Ford Field in Detroit. In Europe, the EuroLeague Women Final Six runs from 14 to 18 April in Zaragoza, and the men's EuroLeague Final Four closes the season with semifinals on Friday 28 May and the final on Sunday 30 May 2027. The Basketball Champions League has not yet announced its Final Four dates or host for 2027, and the EuroCup decides its champion through a best-of-three series rather than a single weekend. If you need every date in one table, including Selection Sunday and the EuroLeague playoffs, our dedicated calendar page lists them month by month and is updated whenever an organiser confirms something new.
Where will the EuroLeague Final Four 2027 be played?
As of 25 October 2026, the host city of the EuroLeague Final Four 2027 has not been officially announced. Abu Dhabi, which hosted in 2025 at the Etihad Arena, had an option covering 2027 according to reports on its agreement with the league. In late May 2026, several outlets reported that the league was considering alternatives because of the political situation in the Middle East, naming Belgrade as the front-runner, with Kaunas and Valencia also in the discussion. Belgrade and Kaunas have hosted recent Final Fours, while Valencia would be a newcomer with its Roig Arena. None of these options should be treated as confirmed until the league publishes a decision. If you are planning a trip, our advice is to keep the weekend of 28 to 30 May free, book only refundable accommodation if you book at all, and activate the 🔔 alert so you hear the announcement immediately rather than days later, when hotel prices have already reacted.
Is the 2027 Final Four more expensive in Europe or in the US?
It depends on what you compare. Using 2026 as the reference, EuroLeague face-value tickets for the Athens weekend ranged from €399 to €952, and each covered three games. In the NCAA men's Final Four, resale guides published at the time listed all-session passes from about $706 including fees, with the semifinal session alone from about $438 and the title game from about $260; for the women's event, all-session passes started at about $507. On paper, then, a cheap European pass and a cheap American all-session ticket are in a similar range. The real difference usually comes from travel: a European fan flying to Detroit pays a transatlantic flight, while an American flying to Belgrade or Kaunas faces the same. Prices for 2027 will also depend on the teams that qualify, especially in the NCAA resale market. Our comparison page sets out budget, mid-range and premium scenarios, all clearly labelled as estimates.
How do I get an alert when 2027 Final Four tickets go on sale?
Use the 🔔 "Alert me" button on this page or on any event page of the site. You enter your email address, choose nothing more complicated than the event you care about, and we send a message when something important happens: a host city announcement, the opening of a sale phase, a change of dates or the publication of official prices. It is free and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell tickets ourselves, so the alerts are written to inform rather than to push a purchase, and they point you to the information you need to buy through the official sale or an established resale platform with a buyer guarantee. The alert is particularly useful for the EuroLeague Final Four, because the host city is still unknown and the first sale phases in 2026 sold out quickly, but it also helps for the Women's Final Four, where demand has grown fast and the arena is relatively compact.
