EuroLeague Final Four 2027 dates: Friday 28 and Sunday 30 May
The EuroLeague Final Four 2027 keeps the rhythm that fans have known for years: semifinals on a Friday evening, a rest day on Saturday that becomes one long open-air party for supporters of the four clubs, then the final on Sunday. Placing the event on the fifth weekend of May means it comes almost three weeks after the last possible playoff game, which is set for 12 May 2027 at the latest. That gap matters for players carrying knocks after a long season, but it also matters for you: the four qualified clubs will only be known around mid-May, which leaves supporters of the finalists a short window to organise flights and hotels. Fans who simply love the event, whoever plays, have a clear advantage because they can lock in their travel plans as soon as the city is confirmed, long before the bracket is decided. Exact tip-off times for 2027 have not been published; in recent editions the two semifinals were played back to back on the Friday, with the later game finishing late at night local time.
Because the weekend falls at the very end of May, it does not clash with the NCAA Final Four in Detroit, which closes on 5 April 2027, or with the EuroLeague Women Final Six in Zaragoza on 14–18 April 2027, so a dedicated fan could realistically follow several of the big spring events. Our complete Final Four 2027 calendar puts every date side by side, including the time zones that matter when you watch a European tip-off from North America or an American game from Europe. For the EuroLeague specifically, keep in mind that the date is official but the times, the venue and the precise opening hours of any fan zone are not, and that Sunday 30 May is the date most people will want to protect in their diaries. Hotels in any of the candidate cities tend to react quickly once a Final Four is attached to a weekend, so planning ahead pays off.

🔔 Alert meWhere is the EuroLeague Final Four 2027? The host city question
The honest answer today is that nobody outside the league knows for sure where the EuroLeague Final Four 2027 will be played. When Abu Dhabi was chosen for 2025, Eurohoops described the agreement as one guaranteed event with an option for two more Final Fours, with 2027 and 2029 theoretically in the package, subject to an assessment by the league. Several reports in 2025 treated the Emirati capital as the natural host for 2027. The relationship has only deepened since: the Abu Dhabi tourism authority and Etihad Airways became main sponsors of Euroleague Basketball in September 2025 for four years, the first EuroLeague Super Cup was staged in Abu Dhabi at the start of the 2026-27 season, and the Athens Final Four of 2026 was presented by Etihad. On paper, then, Abu Dhabi looks like the default scenario rather than an outsider.
Yet at the end of May 2026, reports relayed by Sportando, BeBasket and Athletiko, citing Lithuanian journalist Jonas Lekšas, explained that the league was weighing alternatives because of political instability in the Middle East. Belgrade, which hosted in 2018 and 2022, was described as the front-runner among those options, with Kaunas, host in 2023, and Valencia, which has never staged the event but opened its new Roig Arena in September 2025, also mentioned. No decision has been published since then. We analyse each scenario, with arenas, transport and atmosphere, on our dedicated page about the Final Four 2027 host city. Our advice is simple: do not book anything non-refundable on the strength of a rumour, and switch on the 🔔 alert so you know within hours when the official announcement lands.
Road to the EuroLeague Final Four 2027: how the 2026-27 season works
Twenty clubs are taking part in the 2026-27 EuroLeague, and only four of them will travel to the Final Four 2027. The field changed slightly during the summer: Beşiktaş, from Istanbul, entered the competition in place of AS Monaco, the 2025 finalist, which temporarily withdrew and now plays in the EuroCup. That gives Istanbul three EuroLeague clubs alongside Fenerbahçe and Anadolu Efes, while Dubai Basketball, coached by Xavi Pascual, continues its adventure in the league. The schedule is long and dense, with double-round weeks scattered through the winter, and it rewards squads with real depth. The league has also announced that it intends to grow to 24 teams in 2027-28, so this season is the last one played with the current twenty-team format before another expansion. For supporters, that also means more travelling away fans in more cities across the continent and the Gulf, and a longer list of clubs that can dream of a spring trip to the Final Four.
Regular season to Play-In: the first filter for the Final Four 2027
The regular season runs over 38 rounds, from 24 September 2026 to 16 April 2027, with every club playing all the others home and away. At the end of it, the top six teams go straight into the playoffs, while the clubs ranked seventh to tenth enter the Play-In, played on 20 and 23 April 2027, to decide the last two playoff places. The format punishes a slow start less than it used to, because a tenth place still gives a real chance, but it rewards consistency: home-court advantage in the playoffs belongs to the top four, and in a best-of-five series that edge is often decisive. For the Final Four 2027, that means the race for the top four in the standings during March and April deserves almost as much attention as the playoffs themselves, especially if your favourite club is fighting around the cut-off line. The final rounds in April are usually packed with direct duels between rivals.
Best-of-five playoffs: the last step before the Final Four 2027
The playoffs start on 27 April 2027 and must be finished by 12 May at the latest. Each quarterfinal is a best-of-five series, with the better-ranked club hosting games one, two and, if needed, game five. These series are where seasons are made or broken: in 2026, for example, Valencia knocked out Panathinaikos at this stage before reaching the Final Four in Athens. The four series winners qualify for the Final Four 2027, and there is no reseeding drama to worry about, since the bracket is set before the playoffs begin. For travelling fans, the key practical point is that a series that goes the distance ends barely two weeks before the semifinals, which is why supporters of the eventual qualifiers so often scramble for flights in mid-May. Neutral fans who have already secured a ticket can simply enjoy the drama from home, knowing that their seat is waiting whoever comes through the bracket.
EuroLeague Final Four 2027 format: two semifinals and one final
The modern Final Four is a short, intense format: two semifinals on the Friday and a single championship game on the Sunday, all in the same arena. The third-place game, once a fixture of the Sunday programme, has been dropped, and Athens 2026 was the second Final Four played without it. In practice, the losing semifinalists go home after Friday, which makes the Sunday a one-game day built entirely around the final. For spectators, that changes the value of a ticket: a Final Four ticket has traditionally been a pass for every game of the weekend, so you see both semifinals and the final with a single seat. If you love basketball more than any single club, the Friday is often the best night of the weekend, with four sets of supporters in the building and two games in a row, while the Sunday is shorter but carries the trophy and the confetti.
The weekend also has a rhythm off the court. Saturday is traditionally a free day for fans, with supporters of the finalists taking over the city centre, singing in squares and on terraces, and neutral visitors mixing with them. Depending on the host, the league and the city usually organise a fan zone, but its location, opening hours and programme for 2027 are unknown until the venue is confirmed. Remember that basketball crowds at the Final Four are unusually mixed: Greek, Spanish, Turkish, Serbian, Lithuanian and Israeli supporters regularly share the same arena, and the atmosphere is one of the reasons people return year after year. If you are travelling with children, check the ticket conditions carefully when they are published, as every person in the arena generally needs a ticket, and seats behind the baskets are where the most vocal groups gather.
EuroLeague Final Four 2027 context: what Athens 2026 taught us
The last edition, held at the Telekom Center Athens (the OAKA, around 19,000 seats) from 22 to 24 May 2026, sets the reference for the Final Four 2027. Olympiacos dominated Fenerbahçe 79–61 in the first semifinal, while Real Madrid beat Valencia 105–90 in a high-scoring second game. In the final, Olympiacos beat Real Madrid 92–85 to win their fourth EuroLeague title and their first since 2013, becoming the first regular-season No.1 seed to win the trophy. Evan Fournier was named MVP, and Mario Hezonja finished as the top scorer of the weekend with 44 points over his two games. The atmosphere in Athens, with the home crowd split between red and green allegiances, was a reminder that a Final Four played near a big fan base is a different event from one held on neutral ground.
Athens 2026 also confirmed a few trends that matter for anyone planning next spring. Real Madrid reached yet another final, their fourth in the last five editions after 2022, 2023 and 2024, adding to a list of lost finals that already included 2013 and 2014, while Fenerbahçe, the 2025 champions in Abu Dhabi, returned to the last four. Valencia's run to the last four, after eliminating Panathinaikos in the playoffs, showed that the elite circle can open up. And the ticket sale, which we describe below, showed how quickly public phases disappear when Greek clubs are involved. For the full list of hosts, champions and finals since 1988, see our EuroLeague Final Four history page, which includes the narrow finals of Belgrade 2022 and Kaunas 2023, both decided by a single point, and the years when the event travelled outside its usual circuit.
EuroLeague Final Four 2027 tickets: what to expect from the sale
No ticket for the EuroLeague Final Four 2027 is on sale yet, and none can be until the league has confirmed the venue. What we can do is describe the 2026 process, because the league tends to keep its systems from one year to the next. For Athens, tickets were sold by the league itself in four public phases, with sales opening on 11 February 2026. Each transaction was capped at two tickets, and buyers in one phase were excluded from the following ones, a rule designed to spread tickets across as many fans as possible. The first public phases sold out, VIP tickets were sold separately, and an official resale platform opened in spring 2026 so that fans who could no longer travel could pass their seats on. We go through each step, with timings and tips, on our page dedicated to Final Four 2027 tickets, which we will update as soon as the 2027 rules are published.
How the Final Four 2027 sale phases are likely to work
If the league repeats the 2026 model, the sale for the Final Four 2027 should open a few months before the event, with several timed phases and a strict cap per order. Our estimate is that the opening date will depend directly on when the host is announced: a late announcement compresses the calendar and makes each phase more competitive. Be ready with an account created in advance, a payment card that accepts international transactions, and the names of the people who will use the tickets, since personalised tickets are common for major events. If you miss the official phases, buying on an established resale platform with a buyer guarantee is a common route; in that case, compare the total price including fees, check the delivery date and keep every confirmation. The free 🔔 alert on this page is the simplest way to be told when the first phase is announced.
Final Four 2027 prices: the 2026 edition as reference
For Athens 2026, face-value prices ranged from €399 to €952 per ticket depending on the seating category and the sale phase, for access to the whole weekend. That is the best reference available for the Final Four 2027: our expectation is a similar range, but the 2027 price list has not been announced, and the host city will influence it. An arena with a larger capacity tends to offer more seats in the lower price bands, while a smaller bowl or a destination with high operating costs can push prices up. On the resale market, demand depends mostly on which clubs qualify, and Greek or Spanish finalists generally create the strongest pressure. For a broader comparison with American events, including the NCAA's all-session passes, our Final Four 2027 ticket prices guide sets the European and US numbers side by side, all clearly marked as indicative. Budget for flights and hotels on top of the ticket, since they often cost more.
EuroLeague Final Four 2027 favourites: an early reading
It is far too early to name the four teams that will be in the EuroLeague Final Four 2027, but a few clubs start the season with obvious credentials. Olympiacos are the holders and kept their coach, Georgios Bartzokas, whose contract was extended in June 2026 until 2029. Real Madrid, now led by Pedro Martínez, opened the season by winning the first EuroLeague Super Cup in Abu Dhabi, beating Olympiacos in that final. Panathinaikos made headlines in June 2026 by bringing back Željko Obradović, who had already won five EuroLeague titles with the club, on a three-year deal. Fenerbahçe, champions in 2025 and semifinalists in 2026, remain among the deepest rosters, and Žalgiris added Jonas Valančiūnas, who returned to Kaunas on a two-year contract in July 2026 after fourteen NBA seasons.
Behind that first group, Valencia carry the momentum of their run to Athens, Anadolu Efes and FC Barcelona have the experience and budgets to go deep, and Dubai, with Xavi Pascual on the bench, is the ambitious newcomer that everyone is watching. Beşiktaş adds a third Istanbul club to the mix, and the Belgrade duo of Partizan and Crvena zvezda can never be ruled out in front of their crowds. Our full analysis, club by club, with each team's Final Four record and what their supporters should do about tickets, is on the EuroLeague Final Four 2027 favourites page. We will update it after the winter, when the standings start to tell a clearer story. Until then, treat every ranking you read, including ours, as an informed opinion rather than a forecast.

EuroLeague Final Four 2027 FAQ
These are the questions we receive most often about the EuroLeague Final Four 2027 since the 2026-27 season started. The answers reflect what is officially known on 25 October 2026, and we separate clearly what the league has confirmed, such as the dates of 28 and 30 May, from what remains open, such as the host city, the arena, the tip-off times and the ticket prices. When an answer relies on the 2026 edition as a reference, we say so, because the league usually keeps the same principles from one year to the next but never guarantees it in advance. We will revise this section as soon as the venue is announced and the first sale phase is scheduled, so it is worth coming back in the new year. If your question is not covered here, the pages on tickets, host city and favourites linked above go into much more detail, and the free alert remains the quickest way to hear about any official change.
When is the EuroLeague Final Four 2027?
The EuroLeague Final Four 2027 takes place over the weekend of 28 to 30 May 2027. The two semifinals are scheduled for Friday 28 May and the championship game for Sunday 30 May, with Saturday left free, as is traditional. These dates come from the official 2026-27 calendar of Euroleague Basketball, which places the event on the fifth weekend of May, about two and a half weeks after the latest possible end of the playoffs on 12 May. Tip-off times have not been published yet and will depend partly on the host city and its time zone, since an event held in the Gulf would not follow the same clock as one held in Serbia, Lithuania or Spain. If you plan to travel, keep the Thursday and the Monday free as well, because flights in and out of a Final Four city fill quickly and the cheapest connections are often the day before or the day after the games, especially for fans coming from far away.
Has the host city of the Final Four 2027 been announced?
No. As of 25 October 2026, the host city and arena of the Final Four 2027 have not been officially announced. Abu Dhabi, host of the 2025 edition, had an option for 2027 under the agreement signed with the league, and the region's tourism authority and airline are now main sponsors of Euroleague Basketball. However, reports published at the end of May 2026 explained that the league was considering alternatives because of the political situation in the Middle East, with Belgrade mentioned as the front-runner and Kaunas and Valencia also named. None of these options has been confirmed, and we will not present any of them as a fact until the league does. Our dedicated host city page compares the four scenarios in detail, and the alert on this page will tell you as soon as the official decision is made public, so you do not need to refresh the news every morning while you wait for confirmation.
How much will EuroLeague Final Four 2027 tickets cost?
Prices for the EuroLeague Final Four 2027 have not been announced. The most useful reference is the 2026 edition in Athens, where face-value tickets cost between €399 and €952 depending on the category and the sale phase, for a ticket valid for the whole weekend, both semifinals and the final. We expect a similar range for 2027, but that is our estimate, and the venue will have an influence: capacity, local costs and the layout of the arena all play a part. On the resale market, prices can move a lot once the four qualified clubs are known, usually in mid-May, and the clubs with the largest travelling fan bases tend to push demand higher. Whatever channel you use, compare the total price with fees, check the delivery date and the buyer guarantee, and keep in mind that a single ticket generally covers every game of the weekend, which makes the price per game lower than it first looks.
Is there a third-place game at the Final Four 2027?
No third-place game is expected at the Final Four 2027. The league dropped it, and the 2026 Final Four in Athens was the second edition played without one, so the weekend is now made of three games only: two semifinals on Friday and the final on Sunday. For the clubs, this removes a game that many coaches considered a burden at the end of a very long season. For fans, it means that supporters of the two losing semifinalists usually have nothing left to watch from their own team after Friday, although many stay to enjoy the final and the atmosphere of the city. If you are buying a ticket as a neutral spectator, the absence of a third game also explains why the Friday session is often seen as the best value of the weekend: you see four clubs, two games and four sets of supporters in a single evening, which is unique in European club basketball.
